Common Name The New Ireland Plocoglottis [refers to the Bismarck archipelago]

Found in the Bismarck archipelago in humus of montane forests at elevations around 600 meters as a warm growing terrestrial that blooms in the early winter.
Schlechter states that the flowers are a pale yellow closely striped with red and the lip is pale yellow.
