Found in New Guinea in lowland forests and on cliffs at elevations around 350 to 450 meters as a large sized, hot growing epiphyte with several pendant, unbranched, slightly compressed stems enveloped completely by tighly clasping leaf bearing sheaths and carrying erect-patent, linear, pointed, unequally bidentate and mucronate apically leaves that blooms in the fall on a very slender, gradually elongating, flexuous, patent, 3.6" [9 cm] long few flowered inflorescence with the flowers opening in succession.
