Common Name or Meaning The Ba Na Hills Podochilus [Hills to the west of Da Nang]

Found in Vietnam at elevations of 800 to 1400 meters as a warm to cool growing lithophyte with a terete, densely leaved stem carrying articulate to the stem covering sheath, erect, ligulate, acute leaves that blooms in the later spring and earlier summer on a pseudo terminal, fractiflex, successively many 4 to 5 flowered at any one time inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts.
This species is externally identical to P. khasianus Hook. f. from which it differs in having a subpandurate labellum with a prominent suborbicular terminal lobe. In P. khasianus the labellum is sagittate with a small oblong-elliptic terminal lobe.
