Common Name or Meaning The Round Petal Podochilus

Found in southern Vietnam in primary humid broad-leaved evergreen montane forests on granite at elevations around 1400 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing lithophyte with a cluster of few to many, pendulous, slender, rigid, rather straight, simple, leafy throughout stems carrying numerous, distichous, all in one plane, rigid, coriaceous, elliptic, with a prominent median vein, acute, sessile leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, short, greenish with purple tint to light, pale pink-purple, with a few, small, papery bracts or several greenish conduplicate, rudimentary leaves, successively 1 to 10 flowered inflorescence with greenish to pale purple, triangular, conduplicate, acute, persistent, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying entirely white, not well opening flowers.
