Found in Sumatra, Borneo, Lesser Sunda Islands, Sulawesi, New Guinea and the Philippines in moist shady areas of hill forests or on rocks in lower montane forests at elevations of 100 to 1700 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with thin, terete, freely branching stems carrying many, 2 ranked, lanceolate, apiculate leaves that blooms in the spring often on several, terminal, to .4" [1 cm] long, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts
