Found in Tanzania in rain forests at elevations around 900 to 1300 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with ovoid to subspherical, clustered, brownish green pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 4, spreading to almost recurved, oblanceolate, oblong to elliptic-lanceolate, subacute, green with purple margined or irregularily purple spotted leaves that blooms in the later summer on a racemose or rarely poorly branched, erect, terete to slightly compressed, slightly pubescent, 2.4 to 5.6" [6 to 14 cm] long, laxly 7 to 12 flowered inflorescence carrying anise scented flowers
