Found commonly in Zaire and Zambia in brachystegia Woodlands or on evergreen over streams at elevations around 1300 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, oblanceolate, conduplicate leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, 2 to 9 flowered inflorescence carrying deep orange flower with a minutely spotted red lip and an orange red column.
