Found in Putumayo department of Colombia on the Amazon slope fo the Andes at elevations of 1200 to 1300 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with clsoe set, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, plicate, narrrowly elliptical, long petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, rigid, pubescent, to 16" [40 cm] long, to 25 flowered inflorescence
