Common Name The Masay Polystachya [A mountain in Nicaragua]

Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama at elevations around 100 to 1400 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing lithophyte or epiphyte in forests and coffee plantations with small, elliptic pseudobulbs enveloped by scarious sheaths and carrying 3 apical, linear to linear-oblanceolate, obtuse, conduplicate leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on a simple to few branched, stout, to 8" [20 cm] long, pubescent inflorescence enveloped by closely adpressed, imbricate sheaths and carries fragrant flowers
