Found in Central African Republic, Zaire and Uganda in rainforests at elevations of 1300 to 1600 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphyte or rarely terrestrial with loosely clustered, thin, cylindric, tufted stem enveloped by 3 to 4 membraneous sheaths and carrying a single, coriaceous, ovate to lanceolate, acute, cuneate below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, stout, shorter than the leaf, 1.2 to 7.2" [3 to 18 cm] long, pubescent, simple to rarely one branched, close, successively 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, acuminate, ampexicaul floral bracts
