Found in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea in forests at elevations of 1100 to 1200 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with narrowly cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying 2 cataphyls and 3 to 4 narrowly obovate, cuneiform basally, acute, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the later spring and early summer on a terminal, arching, greenish to black, 1 to 5 branched, peduncle to 8" [20 cm] long, rachis glabrous, markedly zig-zag, 3.6 to 12.8" [9 to 32 cm] long, successively single, several flowered inflorescence with imbricate, triangular, glabrous floral bracts.
