Common Name The Ruwenzori Polystachya [An area of Zaire]

Flower Size .24 to .32" [6 to 8 mm]

Found in Zaire, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda in montane forests at elevations of 1900 to 2800 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with caespitose, slender, superposed, narrowly cylinricate, fusiform, terete pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 5, suberect, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the late spring through fall on a 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long, rachis pubescent, sublaxly 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence arising on new pseudobulbs as the leaves develop.
