Found in Cameroon, Burundi, Zaire, Uganda and Tanzania in rainforests at elevations of 800 to 1400 meters as a medium size, warm to cool growing epiphyte or rarely terrestrial with clustered, purple suffused, terete stems enveloped basally by 2 to 3 acute sheaths and carrying 4 to 7 [12], suberect, linear to linear-lanceolate, unequally and acutely bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, simple to paniculate, 1 to 5 branched, 3.2 to 8" [8 to 20 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence
