Found in Tanzania in montane forests at elevations around 2000 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with clustered, conical pseudobulbs enveloped by 3 membraneous sheaths and carrying a single, coriaceous, articulated 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm] above the pseudobulb, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, acute to subacute, cuneate below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a shorter than the leaf, stout, [9.8 to 14 cm] long, to successively 5 flowered inflorescence with triangular-lanceolate, spreading, acuminate bracts.
