Found in Sao Tome in the Gulf of Guinea Islands in submontane and montane forests at elevations of 700 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with erect, fusiform pseudobulbs with a few basal sheaths and carrying 3 to 6, linear to linear-lanceolate, widest just above the base, gradually narrowing towards the unequally bilobed, acute apex, suberect to erect leaves that blooms in the late winter and ealy spring and again in the late summer and early fall on a glabrous, simple, 2.2 to 8" [5.5 to 20 cm] long, laxly 3 to 25 flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular, acuminate, glabrous floral bracts.
