Common Name The Twisted Polycycnis [refers to the floral segments]

Flower Size

Found in Panama in very wey cloud forests in gullies at elevations around 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with heavily ribbed, conic-ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally by evanescent acute, papery bracts and carrying 2, elliptic, plicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a pendant, basal, hispid with dark hairs, peduncle provided with 3 to 5 sheathing bracts, 5.2 to 8.4" [13 to 21 cm] long, 5 to 15 flowered inflorescence with spreading, lanceolate, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
