Common Name The Tsarantana Polystachya [A town and Commune within Madagascar ]

Found in central Madagascar on shaded humid rocks as a small sized, cool growing lithophyte with narrow pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 5, arched, linear, dark to purplish green leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, peduncle covered by ancipitous sheaths, 3.2 to 4.8" [8 to 12 cm] long, rachis .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm] long, subcorymbose, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence with acute, thick, half as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying large flowers.
