Common Name or Meaning The Tsinjoariv Polystachya [Town in Madagascar]

Found in central Madagascar in humid evergreen forests at elevations of 700 to 2000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with pseudobulbs enveloped by scarious, heavily striate sheaths and carrying 3 to 4, apical, lanceolate-linear, obtuse leaves embracing the base of the peduncle, that blooms in the summer and earlyfall 5" [12.5 cm] long, hirsute, 16 to 24 flowered inflorescence enveloped completely by 2 to 3, long, compressed, ancipitous, narrowly winged sheaths .
