Found in Zaire, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda at elevations around 2300 meter as a cold growing epiphyte that blooms in the later summer and early spring
"The vegetative and inflorescence characters are those of P. adansoniae and P. stuhlmannii , but the flowers are larger with a much longer mentum while the lip is differently constructed, having a small orbicular middle lobe." Summerhayes 1947/8
