Common Name Kunstler's Pomatocalpa [Orchid Collector and Illustrator in Malaya 1800's]

Found in Thailand, penninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, the Moluccas and the Phillipines at elevations of sealevel to 1100 meters in lowland podosol forests as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte on limestone with a rather short, stout stem carrying up to 25 dull-grey green, erect leaves that are apically rounded and unequally bilobed and blooms in the spring on a several branched, erect, slender, finely pilose, 10 to 16" [25 to 40 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with shortly triangular, acute floral bracts carrying densly clustered, small, non-resupinate, wide-opening flowers.
