Common Name The Andean Ponthieva

Flower Size 3/4" [4.3 cm]

Found in SOUTHERN Colombia and Cañar, Azuay, Chimborazo and Guayas provinces of Ecuador as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 1 to 2, basal, elliptic to lanceolate-elliptic, acute to acuminate, totally hirsute leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect to somewhat arcuate, slender, villose, to 12" [30 cm] long overall, rachis 2" [5 cm] long, loosely several flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, villose floral bracts.
