Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 2300 to 3000 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with fleshy villose roots giving rise to 1 to 2, basal, villose throughout, oblanceolate, acute to sub-acumiante, gradually tapering below into the sessile base leaves that blooms on an erect to somewhat arcuate, long-pedunculate, to 8" [20 cm] long, villose throughout, few flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, villose floral bracts.
