Common Name Brenes' Ponthieva [Costa Rican Botanist 1900's]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama in lower montane rainforests at elevations of 1200 to 1600 meters as a small sized, warm and pendant growing epiphyte [never a terrestrial] with a short stem carrying a few, densely pilose, elliptic, somewhat acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the spring on a pendant, to 5.6" [14 cm] long, pilose, to 10 flowered inflorescence.
