Found in Chimborazo Province of Ecuador in very wet montane forests at elevations around 900 to 1100 meters as a medium sized [in bloom], warm to cool growing terrestrial with fasciculate, fleshy, villose roots giving rise to 2 to 3, basal, elliptic, acute to obtuse, somewhat tapering below in tothe petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, slender, p-eduncle 3 sheathed, to 10" [25 cm] long, rachis to 2.4" [6 cm] long, loosely several flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute floral bracts and carrying white, sparsely hirsute externally flowers.
