Found in Mexico and Guatemala in deciduous oak forests at elevations around 800 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with basal, elliptic to oblanceolate to ovate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, pubescent, 4" [10 cm] long, few flowered, racemose, inflorescence enveloped by several, elongate bracts
