Found in Sichuan and western Hubei provinces of China in rocky soils amd damp places in forsts at elevations of 2600 to 3600 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an ellipsoid tuber giving rise to a stem with 1 to 2, basal tubular sheaths and carrying a single, cauline, porrect, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms on an erect, peduncle ebracteate, or with 1 occasionally foliaceous bract, rachis .4 to 1.4" [1 to 3.5 cm] long, laxly to subdensely 3 to more than 10 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, usually shorter than the ovary, acute floral bracts and carrying secund flowers
