Found in the Meta department of Colombia on sandstone rocks along river banks, at elevations around 600 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of 3 to 10, linear to oblong, acute, gradually narrowing below into the narrowly, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a terminal, erect, peduncle 1.6 to 7.2" [4 to 18 cm] long, subflexuous, pubescernt above, provided with 2 to 4, lowermost foliaceous, smaller above, acuminate sheathing bracts, rachis 1.2 to 4.8" [3 to 12 cm] long, fairly lax to subdensely, many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate,glabrous, glandular -pilose at the base, half of them smaller, half almost exceeding the ovary floral bracts.
This specis shares the same lip shape with others of the Venusta group which in general outline is obcordate with a much elongated apical middle lobe. The charahter that separates it from the others is the form of the petal which is narrowly falcate-triangular in outline with both ends acute and prominently elongate outer margin."
