Common Name Jameson's Ponthieva [English Orchid collector of the type 1800's]

Found in Tachira state of Venezuela at elevations around 2800 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 3, both surfaces pilose, mid nerve sulcate, light green, rahther soft, lanceolate, acuminate, basally clasping leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, peduncle to 8" [20 cm] long, pubescent, provided with a pilose sheathing bract in the middle, rachis to 3" [7.5 cm] long, pubescent, laxly several flowered inflorescence with linear-triangular, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary flora l rbacts and carrying non-resupinate flowers with the sepals and petals creamy white strongly marked with brown nerves.
