Found in the Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean at elevations of 400 to 800 meters as a medium to large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with 5 to 7, ovate-oblong to obong-lanceolate, acute to shortly acuminate, subrotund basally, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and spring on an erect, pilose, 3.2 to 10" [8 to 25 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence
