Found in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 2000 to 2900 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with basal, villose throughout, 1 to 2, oblanceolate, acuminate, tapering towards the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect to arcuate, villose, to 8" [20 cm] overall, rachis 3" [7.5 cm] long, loosely many flowered infloresence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than the ovaries floral bracts.
