Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 2000 to 2600 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with erect to somewhat ascending stems carrying 3 to 5 basal, elliptic to obovate-elliptic, acute, gradually tapering below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, remotely few sheathed, terminated by a loosely several flowered inflorescence with ovate-cucullate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying white, sparsely pubescent externally flowers.
