Common Name The Ecuagenera Porrooglossum [An orchid nursery in Ecuador current]

Found in Esmeraldas province of Ecuador at eelvatiosn around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by a tuublar sheath and another at the base and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, smooth, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the long-petiolate base leaf that bloosm in the winter on an erect, from low on the ramicaul, peduncle slnder, glabrous, with a bact in the middle, to 4" [10 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying rose colored flowers with yellow tips to the tails.
Similar to P josei but differs in the dorsal sepal acutely deflexed near the middle with a longer descending tail and much larger, ovate lateral sepals. The lip od P ecuagenerense is not freely moveable inspite of a strap from the lip wrapped around the tip of the column foot." Luer 2011
Most likely this species is a natural hybrid between P josei and another species possilby within Masdevallia.
