Common Name or Meaning Gerritsen's Porroglossum [American Orchid Enthusiast current]
Flower Size .2" [5 mm]
Found in Ecuador without locality as a mini-miniature sized epiphyte with an erect, slender ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the slender, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, smooth, slender, 5.2" [13 cm] long, congested, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3, distant, close, bracts, arising from low on the ramicaul with thin, tubular, imbricating floral bracts.
CAUTION Most likely this species is a synonym of P dactylum.
" P zelenkoi is similar to Porroglossum gerritsenianum, but the leaf is larger in P zelenkoi with raised longitudinal veins, and the blade of the lip is rhombiform with shorter, erect lateral lobes, instead of obtriangular with longer, nonerect lateral lobes." Luer & Sijm 2012
