Common Name Sergio's Porroglossum [Sergio Restrepo - First collector of species]

Found in Antioquia deparmtent of Colombia in cloud forests at elevations around 2050 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, smooth, narrowly elliptic, acute leaf that is gradually narrowed below into the petiolate base and blooms in the spring on a slender, erect, 8" to 9 3/4" [20 to 24 cm] long, successively single flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with 3 distant, tubular bracts.
"Distinguished by the large, light rose sepals shortly pubescent within, with all three sepaline tasils slender and spreading. The calllus of the blade of the lip is tall and longitudinal." Luer 1991
