Common Name Portilla's Porroglossum [Ecuadorian Orchid Nurseryman current]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Morona-Santiago province of Ecuador in wet forests at elevations of 1300 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with short, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, reticulated, elliptical, obtuse leaf that gradually narrows below into the cuneate, blackish, elongate petiolate base and blooms in the summer on a basal, erect, slender, 3.2 to 4.4" [8 to 11 cm] long successively few, single flowered inflorescence carrying non resupinate flowers.
