Common Name The Guatemalan Potosia

Found in San Fransisco department of Guatemala at elevations around 200 meters as a medium sized, hot growing terrestrial with 6, present at flowering, in a bsal rosette, elliptic, acute, opaqque green with white net venation, central vein conspicuous leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, pubescent, 16 to 20.4" [40 to 51 cm] long, scape provided with foliaceous bracts, rachis to 6" [15 cm] long, densely pubescent, laxly 20 flowered inflorescence with lanceoalte, somewhat opaque, pubescent in the lower half, brownish, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
"P. guatemalensis is the fourth species of this genus collected in Guatemala. It is easily distinguishable from all other Potosia by its peculiar, 3-lobed epichile and white-spotted leaves." Archila & Szlachetko 2013
