Found in the Snug Plains of Tasmania in dense low scrub among rushes and grasses at elevations around 600 meters as a giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the early summer on an erect, 18 to 34" [45 to 85 cm] long, 5 to 12 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, slightly fragrant flowers
