Found in Tasmania in grassy forests and scrubby forests at elevations of 10 to 250 meters as a miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 3.2 to 18" [8 to 45 cm] long, 8 to 20 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, fragrant flowers
