Found in New South Wales, ACT, Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania Australia in foressed and heathy habitats at elevations of 10 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with an often blackish leaf that blooms in the spring and early summer on an erect, 8 to 20" [20 to 50 cm] long, 8 to 22 flowered inflorescence with well spaced to crowded, unscented flowers
