Found in New South Wales in grassy subalpine meadows amd among rocks at elevations of 1000 to 1200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, 14.4 to 24" [36 to 60 cm] long, 10 to 40 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, fragrant flowers
