Found in southwest Western Australia in burnt forests and heaths often in depressions and swamps at elevations of 10 to 300 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the late fall and winter on an erect, 4.8 to 8" [60 to 140 cm] long, 15 to 75 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, fragrant flowers
