Found in New South Wales in moist to wet grassy sites and swamp margins at elevations of 50 to 200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender to moderately robust stem carrying a single, erect, terete dilated basally, stem clasping leaf that blooms in spring on an erect, 19.2 to 30" [37 to 57 cm] long, 10 to 30 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, lightly scented flowers
