Found in southwest Western Australia in swamps and seasonally wet areas at elevations of 5 to 100 meters as a medium to giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring on an erect, 19.8 to 48" [49 to 120 cm] long, 20 to 60 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, strongly fragrant flowers
