Found in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria Australia in mountain areas of Victoria at elevations of 30 to 1100 meters , in tall wet forests, as a large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an ovoid tuber giving rise to an erect stem enveloped by a single attached below on the stem to just below the inflorescence and then stiffly and shortly free, purplish leaf that blooms in the late spring and summer in Australia on a 3' [90 cm] long, 8 to 50 flowered inflorescence with successively opening, moderately crowded flowers.
