Found in Victoria at elevations of 5 to 50 meters in coastal heath and woodlands as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a globose tuber giving rise to an erect stem and carrying a single, attached for much of its length to the stem, with a very short, free, narrowly linear, acute, conduplicate leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 14.4 to 20" [36 to 50 cm] long, 10 to 30 flowered inflorescence carrying non-resupinate, scented flwoers
