Found in southwest Western Australia in winter wet swamps and in well drained tall forests at elevations of 20 to 300 meters as a giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, 23.6 to 100" [59 to 250 cm] long, 40 to 100 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, slightly fragrant flowers
