Found in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania Australia in moist grassy sites on sheltered slopes and near strams in fertile loams at elevations of 1200 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a sometimes longer than the inflorescence leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, peduncle 2.8 to 4.8" [7 to 12 cm] long, 8 to 12" [20 to 30 cm] long overall 5 to 25 flowered inflorescence.
