Found in Victoria and South Australia in heathy woodlands as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf apically turning red at blooming, that blooms in the spring on an erect, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long overall, rachis 2 to 4" [5 to 10 cm] long, densely 10 to 30 flowered inflorescence carrying scented flowers

Closely related to the South Australian Prasophyllum fitzgeraldii, but that species has a darker pink to reddish lip and the callus plate is different.
