Found in northeastern Victoria Australia in moist seepage areas among grass in tall montane forests in grey brown clay soils as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, erect, pale to dark green, apically lax, often sithered at flowering leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, 8 to 14" [20 to 35 cm] long overall, rachis 3.2 to 4.8" [8 to 12 cm] long, 12 to 25 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
