Found in Antioquia and Tolima departments of Colombia and Bolivar state of Venezuela at elevations of 1550 to 2150 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 3 basal, rosulate, ellitpic-oblong, subabtuse, sessile leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, subflexuous, delicate, glabrous, peduncle 3.2 to 10.8" [8 to 27 cm] long, rachis to 3.6" [9 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with elliptic-lanceolate to lanceolate-ovate, glabroius, acuminate, floral bracts
